HOYYS was founded on the basis to allow one to practice the art of applying research and design radically in an accepting environment. The aim is for the practice to function both as a research innovation lab and design studio, the roadmap till 2025 is to improve the design and build quality with SME Developers and Private Clients to create a catalyst for change within an identified area or areas.
A keen learner, Sarah continues to attend a variety of workshops to keep abreast with the amalgamation of local and global forces effects on co-existence of natural and built environments i.e. rate of change in technology, legal effects, socio-economic aspirations. Areas of interest include, regional agriculture research, shared waterways, quality of data collection and analysis, building materials costs post brexit, fishing exports and rights, planning policies, ‘fintech’ and ‘proptech’, blockchain, regional real estate investments and future tax changes etc.
Her sidekick, Sidro (GSD mix), has helped her increase her sensitivity and awareness to acoustics, natural and urban environments, floor comforts, and sustainability. He attends site visits where allowed and is safe for him to do so.
